| DETAIL: | Since Cargill Pakistan is more focused on agricultural commodities, NUHA came up with the concept line, ‘On and around agricultural fields’ We developed a design revolving around agricultural fields. The floor is treated as if the whole office is on agricultural field with functionally required floor finishes on it. One can see green earth as wide grout between tiles with river stones in it. River pebbles are placed to give a hint of field’s water source. Carpet pattern in main hall is derived from aerial view of agriculture fields, wooden flooring in some spaces are jelling with the concept. Layout The layout is designed in a fashion that space should act as three-dimensional extension of the world around people working in. The intervals, distances and relationships between people and people, people and things, and things and things are kept intact. Huddle room and dining hall are given the same attention what is given to work places. DESIGN INTENTION A low maintenance design is achieved through creative solutions and selection of materials. External views have been captured through windows. ILLUMINATION By using maximum glass walls, natural light has been channelized in a fashion that it travels unobstructed. LED’s has been chosen for maintaining the ideology of saving energy. Use of amount of light in any space is fairly worked out through the functional requirement of the space. Some lights are specially designed for this office to achieve the goal. COLOR With white as neutral base, color has been added mainly through plants. The most colorful feature in the whole interior could possibly be the human’s attire. PLANTS Plants are placed without any set pattern to help maintain the natural ambiance. They sprout out from furniture at some places to support the idea. CEILING Floor lights are strategically placed between plants casting shadows of plants on neutral white ceiling. |
